Cinderella's Out of the Closet!

We got out and about yesterday! Lunch at Joe's Farm Grill. The fish and chips! It's hard to admit it, but I think it was better than the fish and chips at Bally Hoo on Isla. Of course, the view at Bally Hoo is definitely superior! Then a trip to Sam's for some last minute Christmas items and a stop at JoAnn's for some Christmas wrapping supplies.

While I was in JoAnn's, I couldn't resist passing through the beading supply section and it reminded me of a project I'd been wanting to do ever since I discovered my Cinderella watch in the closet a few months ago. My grandmother gave me the watch in 1958 and it still runs! Wind it up and it ticks! Obviously, I can't still wear the wrist band that fit me when I was five, so I'd been looking for a funky leather watchband. I'd looked all over and found nothing. I even made a chunky beaded band for it and didn't like it, so when I saw the safety pin watch bands I thought one of those might look good. And all I needed were some safety pins and some seed beads.

Here's the plan. You take the small safety pins, thread them with tiny seed beads, loop them together on both ends with stringing elastic, and this is what you get! I like it!

Of course, you have to ask yourself what's wrong with a middle-aged woman who parades around in her Cinderella watch from kindergarten! I promise I'll only wear it on funky occasions. Maybe when I'm out antiquing! : )

I love it! The new wristband looks good. I still have my Cinderella charm bracelet, but it's missing a few charms and would take a big old chain to fit me.
