An Isla Afternoon Wander

Wandering El Centro is one of my favorite ways to spend a late afternoon on Isla. After walking the colonias and beachcombing in front of Luna Turquesa on Sunday morning, I decided to take some more photos around town after I'd lunched and done my shopping. The changing colors of Isla always amaze me!

What a great place to wander--great colors. But what's with that last shot of the white door in the white wall? They must be from the U.S. I'm always amazed by the people in our neighborhood who paint their Spanish Revival houses in drab Colonial New England colors. The neighbors who painted their house Pepto Bismal Pink really stood out.

Kay, I actually see quite a bit of white paint on Isla. Don't know why. Maybe it's cheaper? It'd be impossible to keep clean because of the car and moto fumes on the busy streets. I'd say that house is probably occupied by a local family just from the location on Juarez, but don't know.

I see some pottery I'd LOVE to have - one of my weaknesses.

Beautiful!

Javi and Chucho will be happy to know they fall into the other category. :)

We know what you mean by competing noise!

Marla, it's all good and part of what makes Isla unique! And that dancer at Faynes is actually quite a talent! Since I don't usually come in high season, we'd missed seeing his act before. Javi and Chucho are definitely the cream of the crop in Isla entertainment for me!
