Some More Isla Scenes

We're all moved into our new location. Today was rainy in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon, so we spent some time lazing around the room and walking the malecon. We'd planned on renting a golfcart, but it didn't seem like a good day for it.

Craig even walked down to our favorite hunting grounds and picked up some really nice pieces of sea glass for me. I'll show you some of those later! As he was combing the seaglass mine, a woman who'd been watching him came down to see what she could find. Craig said she was picking up untumbled chunks of glass, mostly broken green beer bottles, and excitedly showing them to him. She kept asking him'Espanol'? She probably was trying to be helpful and couldn't figure out what the heck he was doing. But later when we were walking the malecon, Craig said she was back with a man and they were diligently searching the beach for glass. Oh well. We'll soon have a cult of people diligently cleaning the beaches of glass! : )

Here are some more scenes from the week.

Fishing boat down at the docks.

Another mercado mural.

Beck, the food stand on Hidalgo...do you know approximately where that's located? I really want to try some of those items like Panuchos and Salbutes.

Great photos again!! I have shots of the old Coca-Cola sign and the house on Juarez, too! I love the blue against the white on that house. Keep 'em coming!

Beck, thank you for the update. You are not missing anything here at home. Today I was viewing Mexico from 12 miles away from the San Rafael Plateu. We visited the Arizona Vineyards in Elgin and stayed at a wonderful B & B in Patagonia. We should all go this winter when you guys get home.

Thanks everyone! Nancy, that food stand is on Hidalgo at one of the last corners before you get to the Navy base. I'm thinking Nicholas Bravo, but not sure.

Chrissy, that sounds cool! It looks like the weather has cooled down considerably in Arizona since we left. We'll have to meet up this winter!

I love the Isla Clothes Line. That could be framed and hung on the wall.
