Some Florals

Pass the ibuprofen please! We spent Saturday morning trimming the backyard. I love tropical vegetation, but cacti would be so much easier!

Friday, I was in Costco and saw a smokin' deal on a Lumix camera. I remembered Deb and Sue both telling me they'd been very pleased with Lumix, so I decided to just take the plunge. I haven't read the manual yet, but decided to try out the camera before I cut back the blooms. So far, so good!

Beautiful photos! What's the model of the Lumix you got? I'm looking for a new point & shoot--the metal around the lens on mine got dented in jan. when I took a tumble on Isla & eventually it will stop working.....

Ann, it's the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20K. 14 MP with 8.0 x lens.
I like buying from Costco because they provide a case and 2g card with it. And they have a 90 day return policy without any restocking fees.

You took a tumble on Isla? Ouch! I've done that so many times when it's wet.

I have the Lumix DMC-TZ5 with 10x zoom and 28 mm wide angle. I'm enjoying it - it received lots of great reviews as a go-to camera for photographers who don't want to lug around a DSLR. Macro works well, and it even has a food setting! Compact, easy to use, good image stabilization.

Beautiful photos, Beck. I hardly ever use my Lumix anymore now that I have my Canon, but I really liked the Lumix. I haven't noticed a whole lot of difference in the quality, but the Lumix is definitely "chunkier" than the Canon.

Thanks everyone. Vee, I really need to read the manual and find out about the settings. So far, I've only used the automatic.

And Jana, I can hardly wait! I started swimming laps this weekend in preparation for the Smackdown. (Kidding!) I've given up on changing that free ticket to an earlier arrival. There was absolutely nothing available, even with it being a first class award. Go figure!

Thanks! I like Costco, too!
