Ready for Summer!

Saturday was a work day for Craig and I. Cleaning the patios, trimming the shrubs, and getting the pool ready for summer.

I took care of the shrubs and trees.

While Craig stained this faded bamboo screen.

And Saby just laid there chillin' in the shade. A dog's life!

The pool was primed for swimming, so I jumped in! The water temp was just right -- about 88 degrees. I'm so glad it's finally warm enough that I can get in every morning and swim laps for exercise.

After all that, it was time for a BBQ! Give me my Baby Back!

Mmmm...I can take that food! And your yard looks great, I love tropical gardens but I also love desert gardens.

wow, your pool is already 88 degrees? mine is still 76. We do have a 10 foot deed end, so I think that keeps it on the cool side longer. I have been tolerating it for over a month now. We have 36 olyanders in the back yard, so Keith has been trimming a few at a time. The east facing ones do super wel,, but the ones on the South and West facing walls grow slower.

Chrissy, we have a solar cover and it was left on the entire time I was working. So it was about 98 degrees when we finally took it off and now it's cooling down. HOT TUB! I don't envy the oleanders. The tropical vegetation is starting to kill my back!

Okay, confession here. The ribs are Tony Roma's from Costco. HA! It was an easy BBQ.

Sue, our original plan when we moved here was desert landscape, but we ended up in a neighborhood where grass was required in the front yard. One thing led to another and now I need a machete!
