The Isla Trip Report

Well, that's kind of a teaser.

Don't get your hopes up because I no longer do day by day reports on our trips to Isla Mujeres. So in the interest of wrapping it all up before we set sail on our next adventure, I created a slideshow. I finally discovered I could download updated free software from Microsoft Windows that allows me to use my own music and other features instead of paying an online subscription for premium features. Ta daaaaaaaa!

To sum up our November/December trip, it included a few firsts -- my first trip to the dentist in Mexico, Craig's first open water scuba dive, our first stay in the heart of the colonias, and that first Mexican bullfight. I did learn one important tidbit on this adventure. That total state of relaxation I normally achieve on Isla comes from the sea. I need to hear and see those crashing waves! Next trip we'll be back on the water, even if we have to pitch a tent!

This last trip was a whirlwind of fun. We'll be back!   Like you didn't already know that. : )

Great slideshow! What software did you download from Microsoft? I will be organizing my thoughts & photos over the next few weeks....

Ann, it was Windows Live Movie Maker. Craig got a new HP laptop with Windows 7 and it had that software on it. My older HP (also Windows 7) didn't have it, so I just went to the website and downloaded it. I'm still figuring it out. The settings don't seem as easy to use as Kizoa and some of the others, but it'll probably get easier as I use it. You can also combine actual videos with your photos. I'll save that for my next attempt!

I recognize Zac Brown's music, but whose version of "That's Why God Made Mexico" was that?

Belize is the former British Honduras-so will the next soundtrack be Rolling Stones or Amy Winehouse? Can't wait to learn about Belize!

Ah, Tim McGraw is the answer to my question.

Water...I agree. Must be near water.
To me, the sea around Isla is #1. -k

Thanks for the info, Becky. Now that we're back I'm going to buy a new computer & maybe a tablet at some point. I hate Vista!
