We're headed back to dry Phoenix on Sunday. It'll be a complete shock not falling asleep to the pounding waves after 11 nights here at the beach. We're also sad to leave because a cool wave just came through Florida bringing wonderful temps and low humidity. That being said, all good things must usually come to an end. We're anxious to spring Saby from the pound and get our own house back in order.
Craig's going to miss fishing every morning out front, and I'll miss my morning beach combing. I've amassed enough shells to fill a big basket, and I can't forget to take some sand with me!
We picked up a flier on an oceanfront home down the street and the listing price is $2,999,999, so I don't think we'll be moving to this beach anytime soon! We'll have to settle for renting our little Tommy Bahama studio again on our next visit.
It's been a fun ride!

Great photos! The new header of the shells is awesome...but the question that has to be asked...did you find much glass?
Ann, no glass whatsoever, but I did see some really bad fake tumbled stuff in the souvenir shops! I was also told very emphatically by a local woman down the beach that Anna Maria is not a good place for shelling. It may not be as exotic as Sanibel, but we found plenty of pretty shells.
You take great photos, and I really love the stuff you choose to shoot!
Thanks went coastal! Can't wait to be back to Isla in mid-November. Thanks for keeping me updated on the news on my favorite island!
What's the beach house look like? Can you scan & email me the flyer?
Linda
P.S. The town looks like a GREAT place to retire!!!
Linda
Linda, we left the flier in our room, so I don't have the info. The island's Anna Maria Island, FL. There were some studios where we stayed on the market for $299,000, so I'd say the island is probably pretty pricey.
