Bob Bob Bob, Bob Bob Around!

No, I'm not daft. (Not at the moment anyway!) I know the name of the song is Barbara Ann. But as a kid, I was always the nerd who sang the song with the wrong words! I thought the song was about bobbing around?

The scene here is my birthday party. Since mine's an October birthday, bobbing for apples was always on the menu. Do kids even do this anymore? (Probably not!)

Not much anymore, but then again they don't dress up in little party dresses, either. :( It's also fun to tie a string around an apple's stem and hang from a doorjamb and try to take a bite out w/ no hands. Less messy, I guess. Cute pic!

Thanks Jana! I do remember that apple-bobbing was fairly wet! Once I started wearing makeup, I didn't want to bob for apples! I do remember passing oranges from neck to neck at boy/girl parties. THAT was pretty racey!

I think of the CNN folks reporting Dubya's plan to "Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran.
One of my most embarrassing moments was due to a wrong lyric. Remember the Ritz Cracker commercial where they played that old 40's song? Halloween 1983 I wore a top hat and tails with tights and stilletos and carried a cane. I made a giant Ritz with foam and fabric and then because I thought the song was Sittin' on the Ritz" (shoulda been Puttin'on) I velcroed the giant cracker to my ass and went to a very posh party.

LMAO Jeanie!!!! So we must be twins separated at birth! If I'm going to use lyrics like that, I have to look them up online. Thank God for the internet!

The Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran ditty slipped my mind. And it was just plastered all over the place during the campaign because McCain like an idiot sang the song in public.
