We've been keeping a big secret, but I assume since the real estate sign went up in our yard on Saturday morning, I can spill the beans. Here's a little hint. We're moving.
Last week we took a trip down to an area north of Tucson where we've been looking at homes. We saw what we wanted and decided to go ahead and buy. That's Craig below standing in the street in front of our new house.
The photos below are views from the patio.
The neighborhood's at 3500 feet, so temps are slightly cooler and the mountain view will include snow caps in the winter!
The house is a work in progress, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait and we'll be on our way to a new adventure in a few months.
After buying the house on Tuesday, we spent Wednesday frantically working on our house getting it ready to list before I flew to Kansas City on Thursday for a Mother's Day visit.
Sadly, while I was spending the weekend with my mother, Saby collapsed and died on Friday night.
She was such a clever comical companion. We took her in at the age of 8 when we lived in Seattle, then moved to Phoenix with her. She loved the warm Phoenix sun and seemed to thrive in her golden years.
She loved a good road trip, walks around the neighborhood, lying in the shade out by the pool, chilling with the family on vacation, and chasing lizards.
We'll remember her dazzling smile for the rest of our lives! Rest in peace Saby girl.
What a beautiful dog. So sad for your loss.
ReplyDeleteWow! That was alot to pack into one week--planned & unplanned. Thinking good thoughts about the move & selling your house & lots of prayers go out to you about Saby. I know she was a vital part of your family & there will be a void there for some time.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear the news about Saby. You will miss her a lot.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new home.
Such a week! For sure I will miss reading about Ms. Saby's adventures, and seeing her flirtatious (happy) eyes as she poses in your clothes. Re. your new location: WOW!
ReplyDeleteAgain Becky, sorry about your loss, what a great pup! Very exciting about the new home! Congratulations. Fun times ahead!!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your thoughts. We're really missing her. The past week finally caught up with me and it's going to be a cold medicine/couch day.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new house, how exciting! So sorry to hear about Sabby :( Hope your feeling better soon!

Thanks Karen. This cold seems to be something more. I may have to pull my travel Z-pak out of the medicine cabinet.
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this?! Congratulations on the new home and good luck on the sale. How nice to spend Mother's day with your mom, but so sad to lose your beautiful Saby. Thanks for the great photos!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to lose them, but it sounds like she had a wonderful life with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynda and Kay!
