My posts have been sporadic this past week because I've had things on my mind. Little stresses. My mom hasn't been feeling well, but fortunately, my brother and sister-in-law in Kansas City rushed to her rescue, so that's a big relief. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm packed for our upcoming trip and the answer is no. I finally started thinking today about what we'll need. Passports, ponchos, flashlight, umbrella, jackets, flip flops, shorts, tank tops, swimsuits, binoculars, etc.... Hopefully by Thanksgiving Day, Craig and I will be strolling down that sunny beach in Bucerias, Mexico!
This seems like a sacrilege because it's not even Thanksgiving, but I've spent the last few days putting up Christmas decorations in the house. By the time we get back from Mexico and I make a possible trip to Kansas, I fear it could be a mad dash to Feliz Navidad. So I'm trying to do a few chores in advance so the Grinch doesn't steal Christmas this year. And no, I didn't put up the Christmas tree yet. That seemed too nuts!
The good thing is I won't be home on Thanksgiving Day to stare at the early Christmas decor with Michael and his guests. I think it's all males, so maybe they won't notice the substitution of Santa and Rudolph for pilgrims, leaves, and turkeys. Here's a sneak peak.

Love all the decorations. This will be my 1st holiday season in 36 years not working in a retail store! I might even put up some decorations myself! I like the seaglass & ornaments--I could do that! have a great trip1
Hi Becky,
If you send me an address, I will send you a photo and taste report on your
"Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake" recipe. Finish the book yet?

Ann, I bet you'll enjoy having free time during the holidays! I've put a new seaglass book on my Christmas list that illustrates some seaglass crafts. Hope to pick up some on this trip!
drgeo, did you make the cake?!!! I finished the book and it was very sad to read. The tale of a dysfunctional family, mental illness, and a girl's struggle with psychic abilities. But I'm still hungry for the cake! I'll send you my email!
I LOVE the seaglass display!
