I turned on the television and saw tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, flash flood warnings, etc... and knew we were in for it. A few minutes later, the heavens opened up and dumped buckets of rain. Saby wandered about the house shaking and looking for a safe port in between the loud crashes of thunder.
The patio flooded and I could barely see out the back windows.
I can't complain because you know how I love the rain! According to Michael, it was a repeat of what happened on Monday afternoon, and now I know why my plane circled Zuni, New Mexico for 45 minutes before we were allowed to proceed into Sky Harbor.
The storm brought the evening rush hour to a standstill, tore off roofs, blew trees down, bloodied pets and humans as they tried to find shelter from the large hail, etc... I was glad to be safe and sound inside the house! Fortunately, the storm didn't drop hail on Craig's SUV at work, and he got home at the normal time.
We slept with the windows open last night and it rained hard once again. Last I heard we may have a repeat again this afternoon.
I'm lovin' it! : )

We're having the same kind of weather here in NE. Rained all last week--I had to drive home from my Mom's last Fri--2 out of the 3hr drive was in the pouring rain--about 1/2 hr. was white knuckle driving! Hoping for a nice weekend.....
ReplyDeleteAnn, I drove on a Connecticut freeway one time in Friday rush hour traffic when it was pouring buckets. It scared the hell out of me (and I was used to rush hour in Seattle), so I feel your pain. Definitely white knuckle!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're safe, Beck. I heard about the tornadoes.
